The Annual Houston Humanitarian Award honors an individual or individuals for their efforts to make the City of Houston a better place to live by action, philanthropy, volunteerism or involvement.

The Humanitarian Award was established and awarded for the first time following the 2014 Houston Random Act of Kindness Day on July 25, proclaimed by former Mayor Annise Parker and Mayor Sylvester Turner in 2019. It is considered one of the top honors bestowed by Houston’s council members, volunteers, philanthropists, and organizations.

Statements provided will be a primary factor in judging candidates. Answer questions briefly based on your opinions and knowledge.

The award recipients will be selected by members of the city council, participating sponsors, and a panel of community leaders.
